My #1 Tip to Reclaiming Your Energy in Perimenopause
(Without Giving Up Coffee)
Let’s keep it real:
When you hit your late 30s or 40s, all of a sudden it feels like your body got a software update you did not consent to.
You used to power through your day on caffeine and hustle. And now? One cup of coffee might perk you up for a hot second—but by 2pm, you’re slumped over your desk, scrolling Amazon for miracle supplements and wondering how the hell you’re supposed to keep functioning like this.
Sis, I feel you.
I’ve been there too.
But here’s what I need you to hear: Your energy is not gone. She’s not lost. She just needs a new strategy.
And no—you don’t have to give up your beloved morning coffee ritual to get it back.
The #1 Tip to Reclaiming Your Energy in Perimenopause
⭐Learn to rest strategically, not accidentally.⭐
Here’s what I mean:
Most women think of rest as something you collapse into at the end of the day—Netflix binging, doom scrolling, or passing out after you’ve run yourself ragged. That kind of “rest” isn’t actually giving your nervous system the reset it’s craving during perimenopause.
The truth is, perimenopause is basically a masterclass in energy management. Hormones are fluctuating, sleep is more fragile, and stress hits your body differently. If you keep trying to operate on the same “push harder, sleep later” energy from your 20s and early 30s—you’re going to keep running on fumes.
The real shift comes when you start building in micro-rest throughout your day.
Tiny, intentional pauses that calm your nervous system and recharge your energy before you’re completely drained.
What Strategic Rest Looks Like
Think of it as little sips of energy instead of waiting until you’re completely parched.
Here are a few ways I teach my clients to do this:
✨ Restorative yoga (10 minutes counts): Legs up the wall between Zoom calls is magic. It lowers cortisol, improves circulation, and gives your brain a reset.
✨ Breathwork for energy: Just 3 minutes of slow belly breathing or alternate nostril breath can balance your hormones and bring you back online faster than another latte.
✨ Intentional stillness breaks: Instead of scrolling when you feel tired, close your eyes, hand on your belly, and check in. Ask: What does my body need right now? You’ll be surprised how quickly your energy shifts when you pause with purpose.
Why This Works Better Than Cutting Coffee
Here’s the thing—I’m not gonna sit here and tell you to give up your coffee. Coffee isn’t the villain. The problem is when you expect coffee to cover up exhaustion that only rest can fix.
When you build in these intentional pauses, your caffeine actually works with your body instead of against it. You’ll find you don’t need as much, and you won’t have the same crash later.
It’s about balance. It’s about learning the language of your body in this new season instead of trying to bully it into your old ways.
My Challenge for You This Week
Before you pour that second (or third) cup of coffee, try this:
Pause.
Take three slow, deep breaths.
Do one 5-minute rest practice (legs up the wall, breathwork, or just lying down).
Then decide if you still want the coffee.
Nine times out of ten, your body just needed the pause—not the caffeine.
👉🏽Final Word
Perimenopause is not about giving up the things you love—it’s about creating new rhythms that actually support your energy.
Rest isn’t a reward you earn at the end of your to-do list.
It’s the foundation that makes everything else possible.
And when you start treating it that way?
Your energy levels rise, your mood evens out, and you finally stop feeling like your body is working against you.
So go ahead. Keep your coffee. But start sprinkling in these mini-rest breaks, and watch how much better you feel.
